Year 6 Farewell

Wednesday 12 December 2018

6.00 – 9.00pm

Just a reminder that the Year 6 Farewell permission not and payment (for Year 5 students) are both due back by Friday 16 November.

The Farewell is for all Year 5 & 6 students. As Year 5 children have been in classes, sporting teams and shared numerous experiences with Year 6, many friendships have been formed. Therefore, it is a fitting tradition for Year 5 to farewell Year 6 at this event.

There is a bistro in the club if parents wish to have dinner while the Farewell is under way. Year 6 parents are invited to join their children at 8.45pm in the function room. Year 5 parents may collect their children at 9.00pm. There is a waterfall/rainforest area if parents would like to take photos of their children before the Farewell commences.

Presentation Day

Presentation Day will be held on Thursday 13 December. Years 3-6 commencing at 9.45am and Kindergarten – Year 2 commencing at 12noon. The canteen will be holding a sausage sizzle, sausages in a roll will be available to purchase for $4.00. We hope you are able to stay and enjoy lunch with your child.

Last Day of School

The last day of term for all students will be Wednesday 19 December.

Changes to School Uniform Policy & Associated Guidelines

The NSW Department of Education has revised the School Uniform Policy and associated guidelines following an extensive review and consultation process, including with the NSW Parents and Citizens Association. The revised School Uniform Policy requirements include that:

  • all students have the opportunity to access the full range of school activities, including physical activities while wearing a school uniform
  • girls must have the option to wear shorts and pants
  • consideration is given to cost and how to assist families, including for schools to inform parents how they can access financial support to purchase school uniform items

The revised School Uniform Policy and associated guidelines can be found at the link: https://education.nsw.gov.au/policy-library/policies/school-uniform-policy

Where changes are required to a school’s uniform, there must be formal consultation with students, teachers and other staff, parents or carers, and the school community (including  the Parents and Citizens’ Association). Parents and carers should be given up to 3 years to comply with any changes.
